I wonder how could I get the excellent posts. Is there such a list in this forum?

Thanks in advance

Search for my posts http://www.orafaq.com/forum/images/message_icons/icon10.gif

Just kidding, what do you consider excellent posts?

Thanks!

Your posts are really wonderful.

Since there are hundreds of topics in one aspect, I want to only read the commendatory topics in limited time. That will be very helpful for newbies like me Laughing

In the Forms forum you can search for the word 'keywords' as I have added this to those threads that I considered 'better'.

Thank you very much!

It seems there aren't best topic lists.

It's a pity Embarassed

Well, topics can be rated. If you see a great topic, please take the time to give it a good rating! If everyone does it, we will soon have a list of GREAT threads.

PS: The biggest drawback with this approach is that some users abuse the system to draw attention to their own threads. In such cases one can always rate it negatively...

Oops! Pressing 'Rate' without changing the rating level appears to set the rating at 'lowest'. Can the software 'not' accept the 'rating' unless a level has been selected?

Can we add 'rate' as a sort sequence in the forum search?

My use of the 'hot-word' 'keywords' or 'keyword' at the bottom of the post is clashing with any occurrence of 'keyword' in the body of the message. What 'hot-word' could we use at the end of the message to indicate that special keywords have been added to the thread and this thread is a thread 'worthy' of revisiting?

Great!

I have a suggestion to avoid the drawback that rate privilege only granted to moderators or senior members, such as MHE Laughing . They are more familiar with this forum and topics than junior members like me Embarassed .

Couldn't / shouldn't "great" threads / posts be moved to the wiki?

Scot has a good point. I asked if it was possible to make the FAQ system more updateable but I think its about time that we moved the FAQ entries to wiki and bring them up to date. My current project SHOULD slow down soon and I will copy my 'links cheat-sheet' to a Forms entry in wiki when I am able. There are quite a few areas of Forms with which I have no experience and the threads to those areas are a bit dispersed. I will then go back and bring them together. But not THIS month.

You are welcome to copy the FAQ's you want to edit to the Wiki.

Depending on how things work out, we will either copy them back or move all FAQ's to the wiki.

I pressed the rate button without confirming the setting, again, and gave someone a rating of 'poor'. Would it be possible for moderators to reset the rating(s) for a post?

We've already solved the rating problem - please allow a couple of weeks for implementation.

(OT) Just out of curiosity: how many "we-s" are there? And are the site-maintainers regulars or non-Oracle people?

Until recently you could 'go members' then sort on 'message count' and you would have found that about the top 8 'posters' were moderators. But not today! Oops! I read that wrong. Have a look at the details of top posters and in there you can see if the user is a moderator.

In this case, "we" refers to myself who did the nagging and the maintainer of the forum software (not an Oracle person) who did the fixing Smile

PS: The top 12 posters on this forum are all moderators and indeed "site maintainers" as well.

Problem fixed.

Moderators can now also click on rating images (stars) to view and delete individual ratings.

Strange, I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.7 (on Linux) and it's working quite well.

Are any of the other moderators experiencing the same problem?

I also get an empty pop window, using Firefox 15.0.7 on Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. If I use Internet Explorer, I don't even get a popup window.
